15/20 = 75%
A value like 15/20, or 75%, shows up in everyday life when three out of every four spots are filled. For example, a class might have 15 students attend out of 20, or a phone battery might be at 75%.
You can picture it as a whole divided into four equal parts, with three parts shaded or completed. It is also easy to estimate as “about three-quarters,” which is more than half but not quite all the way full.
A common mistake is thinking 15/20 is closer to 50% because both numbers are fairly large. The important point is that the numerator is three-fourths of the denominator, so the value represents a strong majority.
