A value like 62.5% might show up when a weather app says there’s a chance of rain, when a student gets a score on a quiz, or when a store marks down an item. It represents a little more than half of the whole.
To picture 25/40 quickly, imagine splitting a whole into eight equal parts and shading five of them. That’s five-eighths, or about five out of every eight, so it’s closer to two-thirds than to one-half.
