To picture it quickly, imagine a square divided into 64 equal small squares, with only 4 of them shaded. That is a tiny portion—about one-sixteenth of the whole—so you can estimate it as a little more than 6 out of every 100.
A common mistake is thinking 4/64 is 4% because the numerator is 4. The denominator matters too: the same 4 items would represent a much larger percentage in a group of 20 than in a group of 64.
