A value of 75% shows up in everyday life when a store offers a discount, a sports team wins most of its games, or a phone battery is mostly charged. It can also describe how much of a task is finished, like completing three out of four sections of an assignment.
To picture 75% quickly, think of three quarters of a pizza or a progress bar that is filled almost to the end. It is more than half but not quite the whole amount, so you can estimate it as “most of it.”
One common point of confusion is thinking that 75% off means you pay 75% of the original price. It means the discount removes that portion, leaving you to pay the remaining quarter.
